Getting Over Failure

In my last post I said I am excited about things and what I’m doing but my excitement was interrupted by a recent failure. It was awful. I must say that I couldn’t just shake it off easily. And yes sometimes no matter how committed you are in achieving your goals, even when it seems that you’ve given your all for it we still end up failing. At first, I felt it wasn’t my fault and it was very unfair to me. It is easy to blame other people, other things involved and the circumstances to alleviate the pain and disappointment. But blaming others is a short relief and will never solve my problem. I realized I must take responsibility and learn from what happened and move forward. The earlier I take charge the faster I could get over the failure and get back to work again.

Right now I’m still a little bit disappointed but I hope to start over soon. I couldn’t let this failure put me down. I know I can do it and it is just a matter of time.

I'm Excited!

Today I looked at the calendar and noticed that it is the last day of January! And February might just sneak out being the shortest month, so how have you been keeping up with your goals?

I am making some progress and I am excited about things. And I think that when we are excited we become more productive and we enjoy the process of doing things.

Last week I attended a meet up group dinner. You know I have been a member of this group for two years but I only attended once before. But this year I've committed to attend more often to learn and grow more. Our group meets up at least once a month for dinner, movies, outdoor/indoor activities and any other kind of activities the group decided to do. The aim of this meet up group is to meet new friends and like minded people for support and networking. Mostly members are newcomers to Canada but there are some members who are originally from here and that make this group really diverse. It is a great way to meet people from all over the world, learn different cultures and learn English language together. There are many upcoming occasions and activities lined up and I'm very excited to participate.

NEW YEAR, NEW START

Happy 2010!

Another year is here and we are facing new challenges and opportunities. In the past I have had many resolutions for the New Year but didn’t come to realize them because they proved to be just that New Year’s resolutions. This year instead of resolutions I decided to write down my goals. I clearly defined my goals and made sure they are compelling and significant. I won’t let them just slip away like what happened in the past. I decided to focus only on one task at the moment. This way I won’t get lost or overwhelmed by them. On a weekly basis I would write down what I did to help me accomplish my goals. This way I would know how far or close I am to my goal.

This year I am making a difference!

Living your Dream

I admire and respect people who came from a very humble beginning, had to overcome many obstacles but in the end they immerged a winner and living the life they have dreamed. I love to listen to their stories or read their biographies and they never fail to inspire me. I've always wanted and eager to follow what they did but there's something holding me back.

My FEAR! I have so much fear. Fear of unknown. Fear of failing. Fear of rejection. Ahhh... My fears are preventing me to reach my full potential and becoming successful. I must overcome my fears. I have to deal with it so I could start living the life I have dreamed about.

Success 101

Have you ever wondered how and why people succeed in life and in contrast others fail? I sure do and I really wanted to find out. These days I’ve been reading books and articles about that and I’d be happy to share with you some ideas I’ve been learning.

Here’s what I found out. To succeed we have to set ourselves up for success. What does it mean? It means that whatever happens we need to succeed and we won’t settle for anything less. No matter how difficult it will be, even when things go wrong or misfortunes come we’ll never stop seeking ways to get what we wanted or dreamed of. Success is within the reach of everyone. It is not reserved to few people so anyone can have it. Even you and I are capable to be truly successful. You’ve got to desire it immensely.

Many people never come to realize their dreams because they easily give up when the road becomes so bumpy and steep. Others thought they’re never good at anything that’s why even when they try to do something their subconscious mind thinks they’ll fail and so they will. So be careful with what you think about because it may make or break you.

Are you geared up for success?

No more EXCUSES!

I have to admit that I often make excuses. Even when I really ought to do a task and I know that it is very important I’d still find an excuse. These past weeks I’ve planned to walk daily, write more, read books, listen to my audio lessons and to organize my room but I wasn’t able to do that because I was so busy. Actually I’m busy making excuses. I usually excuse myself because I’m tired from work and beside I needed to have a break, right? And so days, weeks have passed and I wasn’t able to do much. I only managed to write today, the books were due and I had to return them barely reading few chapters and I was not even listening to my audio lessons. Ahhh this bad habit of making excuses is keeping me from living my full potentials and making progress. Making excuses will prevent me to succeed.

Now I have to consciously remind myself not to make any excuses at all. I have to take charge now and act on what really matters to me. Today I’m glad to overcome making an excuse for not writing again.

Creating Success

Just like everybody else I've always wanted to be successful in every aspect of life. For so long success has been very elusive and though I have had some successes, failures keep knocking me off. There were times that I almost give up and just passively waiting for a miracle to happen. But even during those times I would somehow have some inspirations or an inside voice telling me I should do something. That success is for everybody who pursues it. We create our own reality. If we sit and wait then we’ll be waiting for things that are not going to happen. But if we do something today, tomorrow and continue doing it day after day, I believe we are creating exactly the life we want. Sure it is easier said than done but anything of value is worth all that we can give. I'm not giving up in fact I am more focused and committed to my success. Let's begin.
